CAREER PROFILE

Neil has extensive experience working as a Warwickshire County Council Ecologist providing planning advice on ecological matters in accordance with local, national and European legislation as well as undertaking a wide range of surveys including extended phase 1, bat, great crested newt and mammal surveys both for the council and on a free-lance basis.

He has previously worked for Northumberland Wildlife Trust for three years as Minerals Biodiversity officer, working with mineral companies on enhancement of ecological value of quarry sites, and as Grassland Conservation officer, completing a habitat survey of all known Whin grassland sites in the County.

He has been actively involved with Warwickshire Bat Group, leading walks and training and co-ordinating a Barbastelle bat radio tracking project for the group and also teaches adult short courses in various Natural History subjects.

Neil holds a bat handling licence and great crested newt licence.
