CAREER PROFILE

Following her degree in Marine Biology, Asha worked for a major engineering consultancy as part of their aquatic ecology team, working on a variety of marine and freshwater surveys for large scale developments as well as assisting with terrestrial protected species surveys.

She is a keen scuba diver qualified to BSAC sport diver level.

Recent projects at E3 include surveying for protected species including bats, badger, great crested newts, white-clawed crayfish, water vole, freshwater pearl mussel and otter.

Surveys have included work in relation to a broad variety of developments including wind farms, quarry sites and housing developments.

She has also worked on a range of BREEAM and CSH assessments and watercourse surveys.

SOME RELEVANT PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

  • Extended Phase 1 habitat surveys, including those used for BREEAM or CSH purposes.
  • Undertaking watercourse surveys assessing likely impact of development on protected species such as white-clawed crayfish, freshwater pearl mussel, otter and water vole.
  • A range of protected species licensing works, particularly for bats and great crested newts.
  • Species specific survey for reptiles and otters in relation to several developments within Northumberland.
