SERVICES - Ecological Impact Assessment

The delivery of ecological impact assessments forms a core element of the work undertaken by E³ Ecology. Once site survey has been completed and an assessment has been made as to the ecological value of the site and its setting, the accurate assessment of the potential impacts of the proposed works is key to allowing appropriate mitigation and compensation measures to be developed.

E³ Ecology has extensive experience in ecological impact assessment with projects covering a broad spectrum of development types and the full range of scale. At the smaller end of the scale projects include barn conversions, small scale housing sites, single wind turbine proposals and minor road alteration schemes. Larger projects have included wind farms, overhead power lines, road realignment schemes, large scale housing sites, hospital and school re-developments and a variety of industrial sites.

Many larger development proposals require full Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and E³ Ecology has the expertise to complete the ecological impact assessment element of this. Our ecologists have worked on hundreds of EIAs, with recent projects including ecological chapters for numerous wind farm sites, cable routes and a number of large industrial and quarrying sites including both sand and gravel extraction, stone quarrying and opencast coal.
