Habitat Survey

An initial site survey will usually include a Phase 1 Habitat Survey, with survey completed to standard JNCC survey guidelines. Where habitats of potentially greater conservation value are present within a site, further more detailed survey may be required. This is most likely where higher quality grassland, woodland or upland habitats are present and would be affected by the proposed works.

The team at E3 Ecology includes botanists with particular experience in upland habitat survey including identification of bryophytes, woodland and lowland grassland survey. Surveys can be completed either to Phase 2 Habitat Survey or National Vegetation Classification level. All work follows best practice guidelines, provided by the JNCC and Natural England.

E3 Ecology also has in-house expertise in River Habitat Survey with a surveyor accredited by the Environment Agency for this type of work.
